December 9th, 2025 – $90M in new funding will go to ending tropical deforestation through the Forests, People, Climate (FPC) collaborative. MacKenzie Scott’s Yield Giving awarded the funding to the global collaborative designed to mobilize resources at scale to halt and reverse tropical forests loss while delivering just and sustainable development.
Combined with the almost $985M from donors already involved in the collaboration, the new funding puts Forests, People, Climate at over $1B mobilized to date — more than half way to meeting its goal of raising $2B in philanthropic funding by 2030.
“Now is the time for climate philanthropy to take action with vision and courage: to embrace the potential of forests and back the bold leaders best suited to protect them,” said Lindsey Allen, Executive Director of Forests, People, Climate. “Our collaborative bridges the gap between donors and those making transformative change.”
Since FPC’s founding in 2022, the collaborative has connected resources, expertise, and partners for impact. Funding supports safeguarding forests and supporting the communities stewarding them; shifting finance and markets to favor standing forests; and strengthening public support and advancing strong policy. Through those involved with the collaborative, FPC identifies critical needs, channels resources to where they will have the greatest impact, and ensures equitable support to solutions for forests, people, and the climate.
